Juvenile Green Heron in Black and White

Posted by
Donna M Hughes (Port Matilda, Pennsylvania, United States) on 18 September 2012 in Animal & Insect.

The juvenile Green Heron flew up and landed on a wire almost right above my head. I pointed and snapped. The image was very dark. I lightened it up with Fill Light in the RAW converter. That brought out all the noise, but I like the detail you can see in the silhouette.

Excellent pose and detail. Noisy, yes, but still a fine photo.

Cool shot... It reminds me of a plate in a vintage Audobon-type bird guide!
